PARC VALMER

Valmer Park is as lush as the villa it adjoins. Perched at the top of the Corniche, it dominates the harbour and the various islands of Marseille such as, among others, the Château d’If and Frioul. The villa, which can easily be compared to a small castle because of its proportions and architecture, was built in 1865 at the request of a rich oil manufacturer and merchant from Salons.

MUCEM / FORT SAINT-JEAN

MuCem, the Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilizations, opened its doors in 2013, during which Marseille was the European Capital of Culture. Floating between the sky and the water at the entrance to the Old Port, it was built by the renowned architect Rudy Ricciotti and is now one of the main monuments to visit in Marseille. By taking the two footbridges that connect MuCem to Fort Saint-Jean, a former military fort, you can stroll through the alleys and botanical walks that this historic monument offers as well as enjoy the exceptional panoramic view of the Old Port and the sea.
