The prehistoric cave in the Villa Méditerranée building in Marseille

The Cosquer Cave, restored in the Villa Méditerranée building in Marseille, finally reveals its secrets buried for 30,000 years under 37 metres of water. The Cosquer adventure unfolds on three levels with the prehistoric cave under the sea, to be visited on board exploration modules.

From an imaginary underwater base, in groups of 6 people, visit the reconstruction of the Cosquer Cave in an atmosphere close to the original.

Explore the 1750m² of the cave from the comfort of the exploration modules, a kind of gondola that moves very slowly. Equipped with headphones, the French commentary is narrated by the Marseille actor Philippe Caubère.

A visit rich in 480 engravings and cave paintings made between 33,000 and 19,000 years before the present. In addition, speleothems and other geological wonders are reproduced and staged with a concern for realism based on scientific data.
