3 must-see places in Marseille on the blue line
Take advantage of a stopover in Marseille to discover the wonders of the city.
When getting off at stop 2, you will not be able to miss a very beautiful Napoleon III style building. While walking towards the rue Saint-Ferréol, you can admire the Prefecture and understand all the excesses of this monument in Marseille.
Get off at stop 3 to admire the beauty of Marseille’s city stadium: the Velodrome Stadium!
Visiting Marseille without going through the emblematic Velodrome Stadium would be a shame. It is one of the must-see attractions in Marseille!
Finally, in front of the Borély racecourse, which is our stop 5, is the Escale Borély and the Prado beaches. Very well known and appreciated, very close to the Parc Borély and its castle, the Prado beaches are the most popular in Marseille. L’Escale Borély, with its long sandy and pebble beaches, welcomes you to offer you a moment of escape with family or friends.
The Prefecture of Marseille: a meeting between art and architecture
The prefecture of Marseille is an emblematic building. Even today, the Hôtel de Préfecture remains one of the most beautiful buildings of the Third Republic.
During the Heritage Days, you can discover from the inside the decoration and its history, the construction of which began in 1862 and ended in 1866. This building is one of the most beautiful examples of Second Empire architecture in Marseille, listed on the supplementary list of historic monuments.
The Velodrome Stadium: a great temple of football
A symbol of Marseille’s culture, the theatre of the most beautiful victories of the Marseille Olympics, the Stade Vélodrome is the place of all passions, all encounters, all celebrations and all generations.
During your stay in Marseille, visit the legendary stadium, which has hosted more than 60,000 people since 1935, for its Olympique de Marseille matches, but also other events (rugby matches, concerts).
The stadium is part of a vast urban renewal project covering some twenty hectares around the grounds.
It includes a 28,000 m² shopping centre and two hotels (2 and 4 stars).
L’Escale Borély: a place to live by the sea
Hosting numerous sporting and other major events every year, the Prado seaside park has 10 hectares of beaches and 26 hectares of green spaces.
This place, appreciated by families, young people and sportsmen, has playgrounds for children.
Not to mention the Bowl, one of the most famous skateparks in Europe!
L’Escale Borély, with its long sandy and pebble beaches, welcomes you to offer you a moment of escape with family or friends.
